Maj. Gen. Stanley E. Reinhart (1893-1975)
August 1943 - August 1945. Prior to commanding the 65th, Gen. Reinhart served as artillery commander of the 25th Division, and he participated in the military operations on Guadalcanal in the Pacific. Gen. Reinhart led the 65th throughout its organization, training, and combat operations in Europe. He retired in 1946.
Brig. Gen. John E. Copeland
August 1945 - Inactivation. Gen. Copeland was formerly assistant division commander in the 65th.
